Goal Setting
Goals and objectives are central to the rehabilitation process for the following reasons:
- It is an important and effective motivating factor for the patient
- It helps guide therapists towards actions that the patient wants
- Measuring outcome against patient-specific goals is a potential means of evaluating treatment
- It helps to ensure that the actions of multiple people and services are coordinated
- It reduces the risk of overlooking important treatments
Our multidisciplinary team works closely with patients, their families and/or carers to identify realistic goals and the most effective way to achieve them.
