For the knee, we treat and perform surgery for:
- Sports injuries
- Soft tissue reconstruction, such as anterior cruciate reconstruction
- Realignment surgery
- Cartilage regeneration
- Osteoarthritis including osteotomy, unicompartmental knee replacement, total knee replacement
- Revision knee replacement
The Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre is a leading institution in the development and continued research in unicompartmental knee replacements. Currently about 50% of the knee replacements we perform are unicompartmental. This has advantages for patients appropriately selected. They recover more quickly and have improved function following the replacement, compared to total knee replacements.
