Dr Atkins is a Consultant in Infectious Diseases and Microbiology at Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, Honorary Senior Lecturer, Oxford University and Training Programme Director, Infectious Diseases and Microbiology.


She qualified 1987 (Emmanuel College, Cambridge, Royal London Hospital, London University) - her core medical training was undertaken at the Royal London Hospital and Oldchurch Hospital Medical Rotation.

Specialty training in Infectious Diseases, HIV medicine and Microbiology was at the Royal London Hospital, Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, Concord Hospital, Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Atkins was appointed to her current position in 2000. She has been particularly interested in Orthopaedic Infection since 1994.
